Reed helps clients address challenges and seize opportunities - especially during times of transition.  He specializes in coaching those age 50 and over, helping them explore and prepare for what's next after a main career.  Reed also provides companies/organizations with customized workshops and individual coaching to help participants determine their readiness to retire by using a life planning approach.

    Retirement Readiness Assessments

    The Retirement Readiness Assessment (RRAP) Package ($165) includes a follow-up coaching session to clarify next steps.  The RRAP assessment provides a 40+ page report covering 10 wellbeing categories, suggested strategies in each category, key questions to consider, and book/article suggestions.  Or, take the assessment only for $95.

    One-Shot Life Planning Retirement Seminar

    Reed offers virtual seminars of variable length that cover the basics of non-financial retirement and life planning.  Customized programs can include the Retirement Readiness Assessment (RRAP) that assesses participant retirement readiness in 10 key areas and coach assistance in interpreting the results.   This 2.5 hour seminar is a great addition to any retirement planning program.     The 5 Week Explorer Course - For Your Organization

    This five-week live video program provides a cost-effective way for participants to learn about retirement transitions culminating in the creation of encore Life Action Plan.  Explore your level of retirement readiness in 22 key life areas including: work/service, relationships, leisure, personal growth, health/wellness, environment, and financial/legal matters. The seminar includes weekly handouts,  mini-lectures, group exercises, and highly interactive discussions with seminar participants. 

Individual Coaching:

The core of Reed work is in helping clients with midlife transitions. Through regularly scheduled phone or video sessions, Reed works with clients to determine where they want to invest energy and what they want to accomplish. Individual coaching can include coaching on specific areas where a client may feel stuck, or in helping clients holistically look at their next life chapter. Reed helps clients identify and clarify goals and create an action plan to overcome obstacles and achieve results.

Couples Coaching:

Reed helps couples sort through thoughts, feelings, and expectations about retirement and how to plan a life being better together.  The transition of more time together can be challenging, yet also open up opportunities for growth. Reed was active with the group Couples Coaching Couples for over 10 years and will share key techniques to enhance and deepen couple connection.

What's Next Seminar - (3 hours)

Via Live Video - For Businesses, Nonprofits and Community Groups

Prior to meeting, participants complete the online Retirement Readiness Assessment (RRAP)  that assessing retirement readiness across 10 key categories.  The Retirement Readiness Assessment (RRAP) reveals powerful insights about retirement lifestyle issues that are easily presented and discussed in group or classroom settings.  The comprehensive 40+ page PDF report provides suggested strategies in each category, key questions to consider, and book/article suggestions.  Participants leave with a personal, practical and relevant self-portrait of lifestyle needs and insights for future planning.

This three-hour workshop is interactive and balanced with solid practical information, planning exercises, time for reflection and opportunities to share and hear from other participants. Numerous take-away resources are provided. Upon completion of the online assessment individuals receive:

  • A personalized 40+ page Report that indicates levels of preparedness - providing a functional blueprint for retirement planning and transition.
  • The What's Next Mid-Life Planner with numerous key questions and worksheets.
  • Action plan for each participant.

What's Next Explorer Course:

This five-week live video program provides a cost-effective way for a group of participants to learn about midlife transitions. It is facilitated by What's Next principal, Reed Dewey. Participants take the Retirement Readiness Assessment, and learn what their results mean, along with reading the insightful book What Color Is Your Retirement by Richard Johnson, Ph.D., a leader in the field. The course includes one private coaching session in addition to the five week seminar. Participants learn from each other, explore numerous topics and end with a supportive peer community and actionable transition plan.
